Nearly 50 Pounds of Marijuana in Shady Home

A Florida couple was arrested in their home in late November after agents found 50 pounds of marijuana in their home. The couple, Kenneth Kinney and Brenda Kinney, were charged with trafficking in marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing without violence. Federal agents received a tip that a FedEx package on its way to their home looked extremely suspicious. The agents raided the home after they delivered the package to the house themselves. They intercepted the package at a loading facility, had a drug sniffing dog check it out, obtained a search warrant and then opened the package. They found 20 pounds of marijuana inside. Upon their delivery of the package, they found a man walking around the outside of the house who picked up the package and went inside.

Agents raided the house, arresting Mr. Kinney and tracked down his wife, who was seen leaving the premises before the raid occurred. 29 more pounds of marijuana were found inside the home in different sections. Marijuana was also being stored in the refrigerator. Upon the arrest of Mrs. Kinney, agents found a smoked marijuana cigarette in one of her pockets that she claimed she knew nothing about.
