Florida Man Recently Arrested for DUI Manslaughter
Tampa Bay police recently took man into custody for striking a pedestrian, while he was driving drunk. He is being held without bail and is being charged for a felony- DUI manslaughter. The pedestrian was carried by the car for 150 feet before dropping to the ground. The driver claims that he was unable to see the pedestrian, but officers noted that the area in which the accident took place was very well lit.
The pedestrian died, and because of this, the driver faces much more severe penalties. He refused field sobriety tests, but his BAC level was found to be .02 higher than the legal limit in Florida. Officers also noted that he had the smell of alcohol on his breath. The man now faces punishments of heavy fines and several years of jail time.
