Deputies Bust Small Meth Lab in Haven

A Winter Haven man has been arrested for possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of listed chemicals, possession of meth and manufacturing meth in his St. Paul Drive home. Lawrence Wray, 23, of Winter Haven, was arrested by Polk County deputies on December 3, 2008 for the above mentioned charges. Deputies received consent to search Wray’s home at 3062 St. Paul Drive and during the search they discovered a small, active meth lab in one of the back bedrooms.

During the search, authorities also discovered several Florida identification cards that looked to be in the process of having new identities placed upon them. Investigators claim that the identification cards had been washed of all information previously on them. Wray’s neighbor, Lawrence McCoy, 45, of 4025 St. Paul Drive, was also arrested by authorities. He has been charged with three counts of making a counterfeit driver’s license. If Wray is convicted of the charges he faces anywhere from 5 to 30 years in prison plus fines. If McCoy is convicted of the counterfeit charges, he faces anywhere from 1 year’s probation to 2 years in prison.
